There are many forms of entertainment for Children's Parties. Many require the kids to be passive observers of some man dressed in an amusing outfit trying to get laughs from them. Whilst the children may find a passing enjoyment, in terms of benefit it is very ephemeral.
Alternatively, consider the benefits of having the youngsters engage in a more mentally stimulating exercise.
In order to be challenged a person requires feedback.
Just imagine a game of ten-pin bowling with the pins hidden from view by a sheet. The bowler throws the ball down the lane and he hears the satisfying smash of the skittles falling.
But, because of the sheet, he has no idea how many have fallen and which are still up.
He might throw a few more balls but will soon tire of not knowing how he is doing.
The lack of any feedback is disheartening.
The same is certainly the same with children.
As an alternative mull over a party where instead of being passive bystanders the kids are active and engaged in activities.
Give them tasks to perform.
OK they won't all get it right all the time, but at least they will rise to the challenge and based on the feedback double or re-double their efforts. Finally when they achieve their objective they will get an immense pride in the results of their efforts.
Success breeds success. Not only that but generally ones enjoys what one is good at.
It is very easy then to see the benefits that can be gained by giving these guys some meaningful work to do.
Some Science parties pride themselves in bring to the folk they meet a joy of Science that they are able to convert into success in doing fun experiments.
They get very positive feedback and self pride.
Net result - when the next Science lesson comes along a school they are there in the front as eager beavers wanting to continue their success.
I am a great believer that children learn best when they are having fun and fun is what they should get.
If you want proof, you can navigate websites where you can see photographs taken at parties.
You will notice not only happy children but the looks of concentration on their faces as they tackle many of the tasks set for them by the Presenter.
Please consider using a Children's party as a prime opportunity to stimulate their brains as well as giving them heaps of fun and a big slice of Birthday Cake!
